MOT & MOT Repairs
An MOT (Ministry of Transport) test is a legal requirement for vehicles over three years old in the UK. The test ensures that your vehicle meets safety and environmental standards. It covers various aspects, including:

Failing to have a valid MOT can lead to fines and make your insurance invalid, so it’s crucial to stay on top of this requirement.
-
Brakes: Ensuring they function effectively.
-
Lights: Checking all lights are operational.
-
Tyres: Assessing tread depth and overall condition.
-
Exhaust emissions: Ensuring they meet legal limits.

This Land Rover Freelander failed an MOT due to worn bottom suspension arms.
Replacing bottom arms restores proper suspension alignment, improves steering precision, reduces tyre wear and ensures a safer drive.
What to expect on the day?
The MOT test usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour. During this time, the technician will perform a thorough inspection of your vehicle.
After the test, you will receive a certificate indicating whether your vehicle passed or failed. If it fails, we will provide you a detailed report of the issues and repair costs. Once you give us the go ahead for the repairs, we will order the parts, repair the damage and book your vehicle in for a re-test (FREE if carried out within 10 days of the original test). Please note, we cannot guarantee that the repairs will be completed the same day but we will keep you informed of the timescale.
After the re-test, you will be presented with the PASS test certificate. We will send a reminder when your next MOT is due in a years time.
